Male circumcision?

My brother he has fallen in love with a Malay girl - a moslem of course, and now I think he has marriage in mind. Lately he has been reading the moslem books a lot and its ok but i last week he told me something disturbing about how he need to go find a doctor because he need to circumcise!!! I know my other male moslem friends are circumsized since small but my bro is a grown up now and though it is HIS BODY i think he has been reading the wrong books in that he MUST do it before he can marry the girl. please enlighten me on this.

by last week i meant 2 days ago on Saturday so i think i can still talk him out of it...

Male circumcision is recommended in Islam for health reasons but the obligation is waived in the case of a person who embraces Islam and feels afraid of the consequences of the procedures.

Thus if a male adult embraces Islam and feels apprehensive about circumcision, it is waived in his case. In any case, it is not a condition for the validity of a person’s profession of accepting the Islamic faith or the performance of his religious duties.

In my personal opinion, why scare people off? Its recommended but its so wrong to say that in order for a person to embrace the faith or for the prayer to be accepted a person has to first do something he is genuinely afraid of or even despise.

Abu Hurairah (radhiallâhu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, “Religion (Islam) is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded; and gain strength by offering the prayers in the mornings, afternoons and during the last hours of the nights.” (Bukhâri 1/38)

Tell this to your brother,he might have his reasons for doing it - maybe medical and not even because of Islam as you thought! but if he thinks that circumcision is the ONLY way he will be accepted as a Muslim, then..he really is reading the wrong books.

I don't know where your brother is getting his information but in ancient history the Moslems pulled down the pants of traveling caravans captives and if they WERE circumcised they were beheaded. Circumcising is an ancient Egyptian rite the Jews inherited.

I have asked Pakistani men about circumcise and they assured me that it was not big deal with them. Almost all had been circumcised when they were little boys.

I would tell your brother it is the future wife's wish. Some women like it, some don't. If your brother does decide to do it, tell him it's not so bad except for the stitches for the week after the procedure.

Yes in islamic teaching circumcision fo male is a must. Do not be afraid your brother will be well and will have a quick recovery from his circumcision.In modern circumcision will be handled by lasser light.Your brother will not have pain it is only like an ant bite.

Circumcision for Muslim men is more like tradition which by time and other stuff turned to be one of the Islam teachings, if he want to do it, then ok, but it will be painful for the first 3 days, that's why they do it to the newborns.

i wonder if your brother wants to follow the religion or what is going on in his mind. you should try to talk to your brother and ask him if he wants to do this for the love of it or he wants to do it to impress his girl. you are right when you say it is his body but then sometimes taking fast decision can destroy you. Tell him to follow his heart and make sure he doesnt regret at the end. Good luck

In Malaysia yes.Don't worry it's okay for adult to do that too and a lot of normal clinic have this kind of operation. It took about 15 - 30 minute for this operation and cost about 100 -180 ringgit. And it will take 2 - 4 week to recover.

if he thinks he must then its not your business. its not any fun though and it will take away some of his sexual sensation, why would muslims want to do what jews think they have to do?

well My father in law who is now 43 i think he is in his 40s anyway he gotten circumsised recently and he said it hurt but it did not do much harm to him. My father in law just desided he wanted to do it. It is much cleaner and better for him i think bc its easier to clean and easier for sex i think anyway. Yes you are right it is his choice and if he wants to do for whatever reason then you should support him. It is not going to hurt him in a bad way so he will live its OK. Many men like my father in law got it done when in adult hood.

ADVICE YOUR BROTHER TO RUN AWAY AS FAST AS HE CAN BECAUSE A MUSLIM MEANS TROUBLE !!!
