Recently our shower briefly got backed up and water leaked through the shower wall (which is not sealed properly), and came out on the other sides of the wall into adjoining rooms/closets. We dried out the carpet with towels and by airing out the rooms, but I'm worried about mold inside the wall.

I'm wondering whether I should be worried about damage to my house. Is there a way to check for mold without tearing out the walls? Do you think this type of damage would cause a mold problem?

Mold spores have been around forever. The only reason mold has become a big health issue is because lawyers have figured out how to sue people and make money. People that love mold issues because they can make money: Doctors, Lawyers, Contractors.

That water in the wall has maybe caused mold, but because the water is no longer feeding it - the mold will dry up and die.
