ive been golden, beachy blonde all my life and recently went to dark brown, almost black! and i can tell you that the male attention rate is totally different.
when i was blond walking down the road, cars passing with guys in it would whistle a dime a dozen, or shout out something vulgar... since ive gone brunette ive had no car abuse hahaha
walking around the shops i used to get looks, like dirty looks of jealous females and "i want you" looks off guys. now women dont ever give me looks and men treat me with respect.
ive been told i dont look any less attractive, people have said i actually look better as a brunette, my eyes are blue so they stand out and stuff like that, but for some reason, i have seemed to earn more respect from the general public with just a hair colour alteration.
from experience, id say men see blondes as sex on legs or a threat, and brunettes as either worthy of respect, or wife material.
it sux, but it seems to be so. my mates have had the same experience.

Yes, at least white men do, and there's actually a scientific explanation for it. It gets a little animalistic, but here goes:
Attraction, ultimately is about reproduction. Men are attracted to the women that their instincts tell them will be the most likely to produce successful offspring. Women are more fertile and more likely to conceive when they are younger. Since our hair tends to darken with age, blonde hair is a symbol of youth and fertility, and thus more attractive. Of course, not all men have to have a blond girlfriend or wife. The attraction comes in varying degrees. Also, this is a reason why some men are fascinated with Asian women, who tend to have smoother skin and look younger than white women do.
This probably isn't the answer you're looking for, and I hate to be the one to tell this unpleasant truth. But now that you know it, you have two choices: you can reject it because it's disconcerting, or you can do the smart thing and take advantage of it and dye your hair. It's up to you. You might feel like you're being fake, but my God, being a blond Asian could potentially double the men who'd find you attractive, at least physically.

I don't think hair color has anything to do with liking. It may give an edge for the starters but always it is the personality and attitude of the girl which matters.
Favoring means what ... do you want a showpiece without any emotions or else you need someone who can really be more than a friend.. trustworthy.. whom you can talk to ... or rely on.
Hope that answers your question!
Regards

I doubt it. Every guy has different preferences. My boyfriend has a thing for red heads.
