I think it would be better if you book hotels online, so to ensure you have a room when you get there and sometimes they have promotion online so its worthwhile to check online first. Or if you don't mind the trouble to go there and book but i just think its a waste of time. The difference in cost should not be more than $50 dollars. Or you want to leave at backpackers place if you want to save money. the web is below

We were just in Malaysia a few months ago. I did a lot of hotel "research" We wanted to be close to downtown so that we were in walking distance of most everything. We were also just 1 block from the MRT (Malaysia's subway, if you will), which takes you pretty much anywhere.

Definitely book in advance. If you go thru a travel agent, you will have to pay extra fees. I just looked on line on several sites, found the hotel we wanted in the right location, and went to the hotel's website to book the hotel. That ends up being the least expensive way. Without the third party involved, you are less likely to have problems with your reservation.

Here's the link for Corus: http://www.corushotelkl.com/

We ended up staying at the Corus Hotel. Very nice, I'd say 4 stars by American Standards. It was $159 MYR/night, which is about $43/night.

I always stay at the Crowne Plaza-Mutiara when I'm in KL. That's coz I get the industry (Airline) discount and a room costs me only around USD40 per nite and is walking distance to some awesome nitelife at Bukit bintang or Beach Club, Thai Club or Rum Jungle... always ask at the time of check-in for a room with the twin towers view... awesome...

Yes. Its better to book 1st. I went there a few mths back during the low season and could not find a good hotel. I had to stay in a small dump for 1 night b4 i manage to check into the royale bintang. Price depends on the site you go into. Normally the hotel's web site offers a higher prixce comparing to other marketing sites.

Enjoy your trip there. Mid vally is one of the place to go for shopping.

Cheers,

Book in advance. Hotels in KL are plenty but the good ones always more popular.

Hello. I'm Malaysian. If I were you , i'm gonna book first but there is no guarantee if the room satisfying you or not. There is no difference cost, i think.
