Just received an email which says a boy and a man died because of ants crawling into their heads and eating their brains.

Is it even possible for such a thing to happen?

No you would wake up, if something were chewing though your ear drum. Also it would be way too much effort to get to your brain, they'd be raiding your kitchen for crumbs, not your head.

Don't eat in bed. ---Sorry sick joke, can't resist, lol.

the ants must be hungry if they are eating human brains. besides, i dont think its possible to reach the brain from the outside of the body without doing some funky stuff, like eating through the soft palate or something similar.

why would an ant want to do this?

Sure they can. There are plenty of species able to eat meat. You'd be surprised to learn that any bug can crawl on you while you are sleeping.

Sweet dreams :)

It would be hard considering the ants would have to not get stuck in earwax and they probably wouldn't get that hungry

Sure is. They wouldn't like it though.
