What features of Earth's crust would you expect to find in the region?

Depends on the scale. On a relatively small scale, I might expect to find a fault or a volcano in the immediate area.

On a larger scale, I'd suspect a subduction zone (ocean plate is diving under continental plate). In such a place, you would expect to find an oceanic trench, and mountains, particularly volcanoes.

Or it could be a place where two continents were colliding (like the Himalayas) or parts of a continent are pulling apart (such as east Africa's Rift Valley). Lots of similar features in those places.
