why does my computer restart sometimes when i close the firefox mozilla window?

when it restarts and i open firefox again i usually have to transfer my internet explorer favorites to firefox bookmarks because they get erased

Wow... sounds like you need to create a new Firefox profile.

You also might want to defragment your computer - Start > My computer > Right click on your main drive > Properties > Tools (tab) > Defragment now.
