I knew it from young and I have no problem with it. He is 18 years old and very responsible. My question is what can I say or do to express to him I love him just how he is? How do I say it without overdoing it? What can I say to remind him that we always had an open and honest relationship and it still will not change? We love to go out and want to still hang out. Where are some places we can go? I have no problems going anywhere with him but what should I suggest? We are from NYC of course he is male and I am female under 30 straight. No problem clubbing it with him but what else can we do?

Give him a big hug and tell him that you love him and nothing can ever change that.

Depending on the kind of relationship you have, you could also add jokingly, "But you have to let me meet all your potential boyfriends first - so I can tell them embarrassing stories about you!"

Be loving, but add some humor so it doesn't turn into one of those awkward "I love you, I love you too, what now?" moments.

You say that nothing about your relationship will change (or that you don't want it to), so why hang out or do things different from before you were assured that he was gay? Do the things you've always enjoyed doing together - that will help ensure that nothing will truly change. Make sure that he knows you're interested in new ideas, just in case there are other things he would like to do now that he knows that you know.

Well you are a pretty cool cousin. In this case you have done everything you need to do simply acknowledging his lifestyle.

There's nothing more you need to do bsides treat him the same way you always have and continue doing it. I applaud you for wanting to express yourself to your family member without making him feel uncomfortable. You sound really close to your cousin so the next time you see him just walk up to him and give him a great big hug and say "I know and love you more for it" then smile and ask him if he wants to go out for lunch.

As for things to do and places to go...that's more of an experience for you then him since you will be going to places you probably never went to before. The environment and surroundings will change but not your feelings for you cousin. I think your life and his will only get better from here. Enjoy the news and spread the wealth. Have fun and be safe. :-)

Stay the person you always been and treat him no diffrent then what you have been treating him. Just be there for him. He obvisoulsy knows he can trust you or he would of not told you that he was guy. So he already knows that you guys have an open and trusting relationship. So just be yourself. Maybe go with him to a gay bar straight people go there too there are just not that many but friends of a gay may go with there friends who are and things like that. So maybe do that. or just keep hanging out the same way you have been.

Is it not great to have family/friends like you.

Tell him EXACTLY the things you said in this 'question' and just remain his freind.

When I came out (at the OLD age of 30), the biggest fun I had with good female friends was being able to check out the talent at shopping centres.

You said it very well in your question. Just let him know that you are okay with it.
Do with him things that you would do with any other friend.
You're pretty cool to be concerned about his feelings. Hope you two have a lot of good times together.

Don't do anything different from what you did before you found out that he is gay. Because if it doesnt matter then why would you change anything about your relationship.

Sounds like you already know what to say! Just let him know you love him no matter what and that his sexual preferences makes no difference to you. Especially let him know this if he has other family members who are not as understanding!

Just tell him that you had been expecting this and it makes no difference.
