each area has it's old dress style that nobody wears anymore except on festival or some holidays in different areas of France .....if that is what you were talking about ?

There is no national dress in France. Each region has a traditional dress that can be worn on special occasions.

Unless wearing the tricolor flag can be called national dress???... :-D
Just joking.....
Actually there are many, as each region has its own... Some of the most beautiful are the ones from Alsace, Lorraine, Brittany (each area in Brittany has its own particular coiff (hat), Provence, Normandie...although each region has its own style and charm.

These traditional outfits are now only worn on very special days. Local and national holidays, festivals, etc...
