Their vision tunnel is way off base, they are selfish as hell, or they are just not a good person. Nevertheless, most times the grass is never greener, but of course there are exceptions.

Ignorance. It is simple reasoning which proves this to be untrue.
If you were the neighbor to the person who acknowledges the truth that your grass is "greener", that would mean you have no ability to use the same phrase."Your" grass is greener, therefore the other side's is not. Simple, huh?

people often think the grass is greener on the other side because they dotn know the full story. they only see one aspect of it. Often the grass is not greener.

I think almost everyone here missed the whole idea - the reason people think the grass is greener on the other side, is that they've already lost almost everything that they can in this life - so they have to have hope that life on the other side (death, limbo, heaven, hell, the next level of life, whatever you want to call it) simply HAS to be better than this......................

well being as I'm not a cow I really couldn't tell you. But I do know that some people think that doing something they can't always looks tempting... like having an affair, etc....

because thats how some people live...never being happy with what they have and always thinking they can get something better somewhere else...and unfortunately most times they are wrong, then its too late to go back
