I was always taught that when you give someone a gift, that you must not look back in hope to recieve something in return...my mothers words were "learn to give than to recieve......how many of you give, with the hope you might recieve something in return?................

i do not but when i do give it makes me feel good but that is not why i do it i like to help others and i do like it when i do make others happy. and if they do not appreciated the all well i still helpped them anyway and that is just the way i am i like to help. I do not look for a thanks or anything in return bc you are not always going to get one.

its true in a way as its exchanging gifts rule. I gave you one now where is mine. But the other rule is that one should not give just so that they may recieve. It is part of the giving not the recieving.

When I expect to receive when I give, I will stop myself from giving. I will give only when I don't expect anything in return. Sometimes I give because I want to, other times because I have to and also because it makes me feel good to give. I do not give indiscriminately. I give to those who are in need or to whom I love.

the hope is on the mind of all 100%. if any 1 says diferent that is BS. however some of us do give and not expect or ask for something back.

I give all of myself to everyone, and nothing to myself. I think deep down I treat others how I wish to be treated. I do get upset when I don't receive atleast acknowledgment in return.
Foolish to give all to others, and none to myself.. I know.

when i give, i oftentimes expect reciprocation. but if i don't get anything in return, i just accept the truth that there are lotsa cheap people out there.
