okay so, i have this friend, and we've known each other since 7th grade, and we've been pretty tight. but then in 9th grade, some stuff happened and my mom and sister told me i wasnt alowed to hang out with her anymore because they didnt like her. and now and even before that, she showed signs of jealousy towards everything i do. i didnt really notice it much before but now, i notice it alot. shes constantly stealing everything that makes my personality MINE. like if im reading something, she'll go and read it. i love ballet, and all of a sudden she gets into it. if i like a song, she'll put it on her myspace. IDK what to do. everythings a competition, im really into underground rock & indie, and shes constantly trying to get into it herself i mentioned that i ordered some old vinyls for my record player & idk now she wants one too.
i dont wanna talk it out with her.
b/c she might think im being stuck up.
she'll deny it all. i know her.
I DONT NO WHAT TO DO.
help?

okay there are two ways to handle it. 1st, you can just not totally care, be WHO YOU ARE i mean she's not really being true to herself right? it's her loss. Let her do whatever she wants with her life, from what you said she doesn't really seem like a independent person seem like you are. I don't think its jealously I honestly think she really wants to be like you. 2ND, you can talk it out with her but i really don't think its going to go anywhere i mean yeah she will lay off but you never know so if i were you i would stick to the first plan!

Hope it works you with you.

It's been said that imitation is the greatest form of flattery, but I don't think anyone bothered to ask the one being imitated.

It sounds like she's trying to win you back by making your interests hers. It's obviously not working so I do think you need to talk with her and encourage her to pursue her own interests.

Pick something way out that is totally not you and start acting like you're right into it. Then when she starts imitating u again, laugh and tell her u hate that thing and she's a fool for copying u.

Well, honey, you know what they say, "Imitation IS the sincerest form of flattery". I would personally ignore her. It sounds like she idolizes you, so maybe it IS annoying, try to take it with the attitude that "she looks up to you sooo much, that she wants to be JUST like you"! It'll blow over soon enough, I promise!

You have to confront her, heck even print what u just typed and write it in a letter to her, show her how much you dislike your style to be cramped thats not cool. I had a "friend" like that and i confronted her and we aren't really friends anymore tho, she is cramping someone elses style thats just the way she was,,, I wish you luck but really you just need to talk to her and confront her no matter how much you really don't want to.
