Alcohol does do brain damage, but there's no telling how much for a given person. Some people are far more vulnerable than others.

Drinking enough to get drunk is the problem. A little bit of beer or wine with a meal will help with digestion. But enough more than what is useful for digestion will do at least temporary damage to the brain functions. It will do much more if you get hooked.

It's a dangerous drug, even if it is legal.

Alcohol can damage your brain at any age. Your frontal lobe is responsible memory, judgement, impulse control, all that fun stuff. Also, it has your primary motor cortex. You're still making neural connections when you form new memories. When you have a blackout, that's brain damage. Plus, your brain (I think if I remember correctly) is still maturing up to college. Alcohol in excess can still damage or effect the maturation.

well if it does my lobes would be messed up BC i drank when i was a teenager and i am now 24 years old. I am fine. BUT It does mess up your liver and your insides if you drink a lot and often. MY husbands uncle drank a lot i mean every day and all day long. His insides turned to mush his drinking was so bad that he drank medical alcohol when he could not afford the real deal and when he got saved he went to the doctors BC he wanted to quite and the doc told him if he did he would die. Well he did quite BC he was serious about being saved and so he did die. So back to the question it may or it may not mess it up. I would go to med.com i think it is the web site. Or look up myths about alcohol. good luck
