I have a bottle of "LeTan fast self tanning lotion". I have a pale complexion that freckles up if burnt but can tan slightly. I have been using this lotion as the directions say, which does not include sunbathing. This is not working AT ALL. Is there something I am doing wrong? The bottle is also fairly old, and the contents smell and look normal. It is like a cream, not a spray can. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Give it a few hours or till tomorrow and the color will show. Be care not to put too much though. You don't want to come out looking like a tangerine.

You are lucky you didn't break out with old tan lotion . They are not much good when they are old . Try " Endless Summer" Sunless tanning Gradual Tan by Coppertone . I have tried many but this is the best by far because it does not streak and it is a gradual tan that looks natural . It comes in a pump brown bottle and is cream , for about $8-$10 .

If you dont tan well in the sun or tanning bed then sometimes it is hard to tan from a self tanner. Maybe your skin is too oily or you wash it too often. I would apply it everyday and take a shower every other day and see if it will work. If not then I would suggest a different brand or go natural.

it could be old and not working properly
normally if you don't tan at all it doesn't work
The fake tans always look orange and streaky anyway. so you moe than likely look better without it
