I went out and watched each Star Wars movie when they came out at the theater, and now I have all the DVDs. I want to know should I watch them in cronalogical order or in order of their release or in random order as stand-alone movies?

I just read an article on this. It suggested Ep. I, IV, V, II, III, VI or episode order for the Darth Vader story arc.

Release order is also a viable option.

Have fun.

Chronological is always the best way to go for any storyline. If at all possible, I recommend watching the two Clone Wars DVD's from Cartoon Network between Episode II and III as well. They really help fill in the story leading right up to the start of Episode III.

Watch them in story order, which is two clumps chronologically as far as the production dates are concerned, but correct as far as the characters' lives are concerned. Remember that the first three were really in the middle, and there were then three "prequels." When the first three were still current, it was understood that they were the center of a 9-movie cycle. But now I understand the last three will never be made.

Pity.

I prefer the chronological order of the movies. The Phantom Menace first and so on. It makes more sense and I love the effects of the first 3 compared to the last three.

Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, the Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi.

I believe that you should watch it starting from the Phantom Menace and through the rest of the story as it was ment to be told. That way you get the full story start to finish!!!!!

In order makes the most sense.

IV, V, and VI are like completely somewhat worth observing! on the different hand, I II AND III are actually not almost as good. i think of you ought to observe the 1st 3 if u wanted however the older ones, as I somewhat have pronounced as quickly as, are completely dazzling!!!
