my husband and i are ttc. and you know how that one goes. well i started my period 4 days early. woke up with cramps and had my period through out the day it got lighter and lighter but i still had to wear a pad. i had beed spotting pinkish stuff for about 3 days before this. This period wasnt normal for me. i always have really bad cramps heavy and really clotty the first 3 days of my period and they last 7 days. my period only lasted 3 days and it was a rusty redish pink with brown. and it wasnt heavy clotty and i wasnt cramping at all after that. It came back tonight and it was the rusty brown and then it died off again and now its just really really light kind of bown and pink mixed. Could i be pregant? and what else could this be from. im not on the pill and i dont have ovarian cyst cause i know what that feels like that this isnt it. I do have cramping tonight with no sign of a heavy period just spotting.

Yes it is possible to have a period like yours and still be pregnant. I had my period two months after I became pregnant and came to find out I was two months pregnant. Some womens bodies are different but if you are not you shoud get checked to make sure you don't have a hormon imbalance or other things like HPV, (which can be genetic)

unfortunately not getting your period is not always a sure sign of being pregnant, I know of some women personally who have gotten a light period every month right up until delivery and it isn't always a sign of something bad like some people like to think, some women just go like that, though it is somewhat rare.

My hubby and I are ttc as well and I have had a couple periods like this one you are describing. For me I wasn't pregnant and it usually happened that I would start a more regular period either the next day after I took a hpt or later that day, just when I was getting my hopes up.

Wait a few days and see if anything changes, if you are still unsure take a hpt in a few days. These kind of periods always mix me up for my count as to when I actually started a period so I don't always have a clear date to go by for charting ovulation.

Best of luck to you both.

It seems to be somewhat of a common problem among women ttc. I have also been ttc for almost a year and a few months ago my periods changed to almost exactly what you described. I used to be very regular with a very regular pattern, but a few months ago I started spotting before my period, then having a light period (same colour as you describe) for one day with cramping (never had menstrual cramps before), and then spotting again on and off for around 4 days. my period comes around the proper time, with 1 or 2 days difference late or early, but not as exact as it used to be (used to be exactly 28 days).
I hope someone can help us here to understand what's going on. Also will you please email me if you see the doctor about it and know what it is.

Sometimes these symptoms are indicative of an early miscarriage or threatened miscarriage. Most of the time bleeding happens when there is a low HCG hormone level in your system if you are pregnant. The best way to find out the earliest is to ask your doctor for a serial HCG blood test. That will tell you if it really is pregnancy - cyst - early miscarriage or simply a weird cycle.

Go see your OB-GYN doctor. Sounds like a irregular cycle with a bit of discharge. Cramps and Pregnancy never go good together,

If you don't have insurance take a home pregency test, depending on the results go to a free clinic in your area.

Sometimes a lot of stress can cause women to have irregular menstrual cycles.

Take care
