leather is usually derived from cowhide, the skin of cattle cultivated on a farm. wearing leather isn't going to endanger any animals as much as eating a steak. when a cow is slaughtered, most parts of its body are used for something: its flesh for meat, its skin for leather, and its bone for bone powder among others; so it doesn't die in vain.

however, fur usually comes from hunting animals in the wild. if one buys fur, this tells those who provide the fur that it's ok to make more by killing more animals in the wild just for their skin. if twenty leopards are killed for their fur, what are the hunters supposed to do with the flesh and bones? and how is nature supposed to replace them in time that they don't become endangered?

besides, mock fur looks just as nice as real fur. mock leather can be a bit sweaty and uncomfortable.

i think there's nothing hypocritical about being ok with leather but opposing the usage of leather. just be informed and watch out for facts

Because leather is a bi-product and in the majority of cases, fur is not. People kill animals purely for their fur, just so people can wear the latest fashions. Killing cows is for their meat and not for fashion, leather just happens to be the bi-product and why have it go to waste? HTH.

Why is it that Pam Anderson is against the Kentucky Derby (because of the treatment of horses) but I saw her husband, Kid Rock, at Church Hill Downs betting on the horse races just a few weeks ago?

Those horses get treated like you would not understand!!! They have their own indoor swimming pool!!!

.. Because people like to ***** for attention. They are 2 faced!
