I live in Seattle and am dreaming about someday moving out of this rainy town. the SW looks real appealing right now, but I don't think I could take the summers - little bit too hot. Is there anywhere that hovers doesn't go below 50-60 in the winter but not consistently above 85 in the summer?

Brunswick, Ga.
There the the temps are mild year round and you are right on the beach. It is not a large city, but not a hole in the wall, either. For larger city activities, you are an hour north of Jacksonville, Fla, and an hour south of Savannah, Ga.
The place offers several malls, movies theaters, lots of dining and, if to your liking, there are outlying islands to explore.
The winter cold is in Jan and the summer temps may break 85 a few times, but generally are right at 85. It hasn't snowed there since 89.

It hasn't been hit by a hurricane since 1964, but as they travel the coastline, the winds are felt and are not violent.
The rain season occurs in March and April, but otherwise, is a warmer, drier climate.

I am not far from Seattle now, having just left Ga, on my way to Canada, so I can say I have expirienced NW weather. It is very wet here and I cannot wait to leave. But, I am to return to Brunswick soon.
The people I know there that came from this area refuse to leave because it is so nice.

San Francisco is the city that's sticking out in my mind, as having the most moderate temperatures. I'm sure most cities along the west coast are much the same, with the exception of Los Angeles, since most of LA is in the valley and is super-hot in the summer.

I have a friends also who live in Virginia Beach, VA and Charlotte, NC both love the climate that they live in as well.

Salt lake city, Utah is really nice I lived there for a few years, and I would move back, only due to weather and the outdoors. My experience is the customer service is not good.

And then there is San Diego, whcih is really nice, but I wouldn't want to live in California - period.

Also I think your area of temp that you would like to stay around is hard to accomplish. Your going to have to have it higher in either cold or Hot. Which one do you like the least?

San Diego has a "Mediterranean" sub-climate that makes it arguably the best in the country. It gets cooled by the ocean so it doesn't get too hot, but is near desert areas so it isn't humid. Do a search on San Diego to read more about it.

Hawaii's average temperature is around 50 degrees. Other than that you'll have to choose between harsh winters or hot summers. I live in Utah and think we have the best combination. Winter is relatively short and summers are mild.

Los Angeles - south of the valley, all the way to O.C. and San Diego.

Summers can be hot inland, but near the coast it's pleasent all year long. Of course the rents are higher the closer to the beach.
