Some people have belly button bottoms that are deep down the belly, that would have to have more detailed cleaning. Thus a weekly or monthly cleaning will have to be done, as a simple shower and soap routine will not suffice.
Others have shallow ended belly buttons or even a belly button that pops out of the belly....suffice to say..those kinds of belly buttons are low maintenance ones. he he he.......they get cleaned while one is in the shower.
SO I'd say the amount of cleaning time will depend on the kind of belly button you have.

I clean mine when I shower every day. If you have an "inny", it requires a little more upkeep.
When I was a kid, my sister and I thought it would be neat to put chewed up wads of Wrigley's Juicy Fruit gums in our navels. Big mistake. We both had innys. The gum solidified and it took my mother an entire week to get it all out.

i do. I put body lotion inside my belly button then after a little while, i clean it off with a few q-tips.
I don't care if it sounds gross, at least i'm clean.

I DO! I DO! yes, I do. I also clean behind my ears and the earlove itself too.
