Sometimes it is true. Brian Lara is the captain.
And everyone looks to the Captain for inspiration. If the Captain is not in good touch. it could affect the teams morale.

It is not a correct assessment as they have won matches when
Lara failed also. They have enough talented players and potential to beat any team in the world. What is required is to apply themselves and play according to the situation and requirement of each game. In the final they made a biggest
mistake of treating the bowling with disdain right from the begining and played attacking and forcing strokes before settling down in the crease. The way they started, one had a feeling that they want to create a world record of highest ever total in a one day match. It is alright you succeeded in the first few overs and they should have remembered that they are playing a 50 over match and not a 20 tournament. Since both the openers were in good nick, they should have first settled down in the crease and played according to merit of the balls bowled, in which case the story would have been different.

No,this is not true!
In the match against India he failed. Did W.I lose the game? No.
Actually, they are facing the problem of consistency. They seem to lose their way as the match goes. The only solution is:
They should have 1 all-rounder to come down the lineup.
Somebody like Andrew Symonds or Afridi who can take the innings away from the opposition.

Then Brian Lara should try not to get out, as often. And if they fail in Batting try to get the opposition out as quick as possible!! And they could have similar strengths instead of weaknesses

More like the West Indies fail when Chanderpaul and Gayle fall. As Gayle has such a strong gail force that the Windies never fail.

No dude....i DONT agree wid ya.....except for just 1 league match against the aussiez its been all a NON-LARA show by the windies....
chris gayle, chanderpaul, bravo and bowlers like taylor and bradshaw have all emerged out as potential Match-winners for the windies....
take the semi-final against SA for instance....the pitch being heaven for batting their bowlers did restrict the strong SA batting to a modest 250.......and then had S.Chanderpaul NOT been 'retired-hurt' they would have easily managed a 10 wicket victory....
the only prob. with them is they are highly unpredictable and lack consistency.....they invariably look uncertain much like our Indian cricket team!

in my views the w.indies team mostly depends on their four major players-gayle,chandrapal,sarwan and lara.if any of these player will stay on the feild for long time the windies are winning there 95% of matches in recsnt time so i am not totaly agree with you.
