If you include the CFL, which Warren was sent to because people didn't believe a black man could play quaterback, Warren Moon has the most passing yards of anyone.
Black men did not get the large opportunity to play QB until now.
Hell, Doug Williams won the Super Bowl (convincingly) for the Redskins and a couply years later was out the NFL because he couldn't get a starting position and this was just in the late 80's.
Give it time, you will see more black faces at QB. But why even take a beautiful sport like football and make it a black/white issue. Until we end these debates there will always be seperation.

Here is the easy, NON-STUPIDLY-RACIST answer for QB's. Because for most of the time football has been played, black players were not thought capable of being QB. There were not allowed that position of authority and thought not smart enough to play the position. Even now, many players are steered away from QB. However, you must think of how few QB's actually play in the NFL compared to most other positions. There have been some effective college QB's who don't play that position in the NFL (Matt Jones, Antwan Randle-El, Eric Crouch ...). To respond to one poster though. Warren Moon, yes a great QB. Cunningham was an amazing athlete and a very good QB but not great. Vick is a phenom but he's yet to prove himself as a consistent QB.

Historically there has been some race issues in the NFL, but that has been a thing of the past. Warren Moon shouldn't have had to start his career anywhere but the NFL, but since there was thought that blacks couldn't be a good quarterback in the NFL he wasn't given the opportunity he deserved right off. These days blacks are given plenty of opportunity to play any position and have been phenomenal. In the footsteps of Donovan McNabb the black quarterback will be among the all time greats just as past running backs have been. In the future as this generation of players retire, there will be more and more qualified black coaches entering the ranks.

Its not a factor. Skin color makes no difference in someone's athletic ability or intellect. Its more like TRADITION! Black people tend to like to be backs and recievers. But Donovan Mcnabb, Mike Vick, and Byron Leftwich are awesome QBs! And when I was in high school I could run a 4.6 40 yard dash and had 36 inch verticle. I'm WHITE! So skin color has nothing to do with it whatsoever, neither does genetics. Its about work ethic! White people tend to be these square headed lazy couch potatoes or computer geeks. While blacks tend to work very hard physically. Do you honestly believe that Walter Payton or Michael Jordan didn't have to work hard because they where gifted genetically? WRONG! I have seen Michael Jordan's workout video! And Walter Payton's! These workouts would be what alot of us white folks consider to be "insane"! Blacks work very hard to acheive what they get. If you do nothing but sit in front of the television set on your free time, you will not have the edge over your opponent.

Black people are faster, not to be racist or insulting but since we are using generalizations that is how it goes. So the Blacks focus more on postions that require speed. The white players focus on postions that are left and QB is one of the best and biggest. So they focus on throwing skills and accuracy.

So Mike Vick, Randall Cunningham and hall of famer Warren Moon are white? The point is, this is 2006, not 1947, who the hell cares what color a ballplayer is?
