Radio is free - radio is everywhere.

Legally, you must purchase any music you want to play on your iPod or MP3 player.

Whether you pay for it or not, you have to choose what songs you wish to listen to. Purely listening to your iPod will not allow you to hear all of the new songs that come out each day.

Radio allows listeners to hear the newest, latest songs. It also provides news, traffic, weather, sports and entertainment updates.

For example, one day during the World Cup, I was driving to work while a game I wanted to watch was being played - so I listened to the call on the radio. You can't do that with an iPod, MP3 player or the Internet.

Radio is the saviour of the motorist. All new cars for decades now have a radio tuner. Top range new cars today can play MP3 but it's not the norm. Most people in cars listen to the radio.

Finally - I have an iPod and a car adaptor that allows me to listen to it via my car stereo. But there are still radio programs I choose to listen to, rather than my own song choices on my iPod, because I enjoy the programs. I enjoy the comedy, I enjoy the news and traffic updates and I enjoy the new songs I haven't heard before.

They predicted that video killed the radio star.... but it never happened!

i think radio has survived because of cars. you get a variety of music that you listen to while driving and don't have to fuss with ipods or anything. plus, you get exposed to songs that you like that you wouldn't have found all by yourself through ipods, mp3's and the internet.

Why do "they" still make record players, tape players and C.B. radios? 'Cause people still use them. I happen to like listening to the radio. There's just something about hearing a real human being that keeps you in touch with reality. <*)))><
