Just watched the movie myself. I was already supportive of the war, but even more so now. I really don't think they get it at all! Not even a little bit. I think they are so consumed with hatred for Bush and the republicans that they can't see what is obvious. We are in serious trouble if they take over control of our country. They don't understand the evil that is out there....just waiting.....

There have been lot of people who supported removal of Saddam since 1991. Number of Iraqis lobbied our congress to help them over throw Saddam. Many Washington insiders wanted to send military. After 911 timing was just right to build strong case for invasion. Iraq does provide better ways to pressure Iran if it becomes more stable also. There were many reasons to invade, but terrorism was used to gain public support. And the argument that stable Iraq will reduce terrorism is not good. Remember president said terrorists wanted to attack us even before Iraq War. Why would they stop if Iraq become stable democratic nation? Al Queda will still send people on suicide missions even if the whole world turns into utopian society. That's not saying we should ignore terrorism, but democracy promotion that ate up so much of our time and energy won't do much good catching terrorists. You don't bring out cannon to kill virus.

It depends on the individual. Those like Zel Miller and Joe Lieberman do, and many of those that are more tho the center and even right do also. Those fools all the way to the left like Kerry, Clinton, Boxer, Rangel, Pelosi, Etc... don't understand anything about this country period. Those types want to give this country to the U.N. and have that instiution run this country. Luckily most americans understand that the U.N. is a failure and has not accomplished anything since its creation. Most I hope also understand that the Democratic leadership are those to the far left I mentioned above and that if they get power they will basically shut down the government till the 2008 election in hopes for a democrat as president. Then we will all be in trouble especially the Iraqis.

It's not a question of understanding - it's a question of disagreeing. The entire problem is that so many people are willing to completely dismiss the viewpoint of anyone who's on the other side of the political fence without ever sitting still and listening to their point of view. It IS possible that neither side is right, but that the truth and reality of the situation lies somewhere in the middle. It's just a shame so many people have bought into bi-partisan politics and allowed the politicians to divide us along party lines.

Common sense and decancy do not fathom why we are in Iraq, Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 but their neighbor,"our friend" , the Saudi's financed it, committed it, and we didnt invade them, the house of Saud has more human rights violations than Iraqi Hussien did, yet we like them , and they will continue to sponcer terrorism, until we deal with them, which we wont as they control the OIL

Well, I don't think that anyone really knows the truth of what's going on with our government. I do know that what they are telling us is the reason we are over there is not the truth of why we are over there. So, do I realize the importance of being over there - no, not if we are over there to fight terrorism. If the government would be honest and say something like "We are over there to protect our oil rights." or something honest like that - then maybe the American people could really decide if they agree. But lying to us and telling us we are over there fighting against terrorism doesn't give us the information required to make an honest opinion. They feel that they can tell the public anything and we have to swallow it. Just my thoughts.

I think the only thing of Importance to many leading Liberal Democrats is to hurt Bush politically in a way that will lead to their gaining power in Washington, DC.

As a Democrat, I agree that there is a segment of Islam that wants to carry out a war against the West.

One, it's a small segment, not a large one.

Two, it was not present in Iraq when we invaded it.

Three, killing tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians only gives them more recruits.

Four: Their leaders live fat off their poverty and blame the US for it. We need to show them how they are being abused by their own leaders.

Five: Most Muslims want to live in peace.

Now, let's say that of all the Christian faiths, only the Jehovah's Witnesses wanted to destroy all Muslims. (They don't but I'm using them as my example became some came by my house today). Would it then be fair of the Muslims to say that ALL Christians wanted them dead? Then why should the US go to war against all Muslims when it's only a handful of extremists who are the problem?

They really don't care in my opinion it's just the fact that a Republican is at the helm gets them angry. If a Democrat was in charge during a war like every American war we have had we had a Dem as a prez. they prob. would go for it.

Do you mean that they actually understand it's importance and choose to ignore it for political gain? I would say mostly not. But there are a few politicians that really make you wonder.
