I must concur with your assessment.
Daniel Craig is not Bond material.
I was thinking more along the lines of Clive Owen :)

No Pierce Bronson ruined James Bond. The movies he made, starting with Goldeneye made no sense, were stupid, full of plot holes and I just can't watch them anymore. I think he made four and I've never seen the last two. The one with Michele Khan was the last one I watched. Remember when he popped up with a glass jar in the middle of some huge industrial power plant just so he could put a grenade in there? What crap! And I still don't understand the beginning of Goldeneye. He climbed down a dam and then all of a sudden he pops out on top of a mountain and flies away? Ugh. I just hope Casino Royale returns to some semblance of credibility. Did they kick John Cleese from Q role? It's not supposed to be Pink Panther comedy of errors, it's supposed to be hard boiled stunt filled and bullet riddled spy thriller about an assassin.

Timothy Dalton, for sure. Very clumsy man, no sense of humor. Lazenby, I think, actually was the best one... So sweet, charming and god-damned handsome as hell! He actually had a heart!!! It's a shame he only did one film...
Connery was good; his deadpanning eclipses Roger Moore any day!
The later ones I am pretty indifferent about. After the end of Fleming's novels, the rest always seemed too un-Bond-like...
