Simply put, you can't - the drive won't be able to read it. You could make a disc-image on a PC which has a DVD drive and then mount on your PC via a virtual drive, but then you'd have the problem of transporting such a large file anyway.

Though both look identical in size and shape the CD drive has a maximum capacity of 700 MB whereas the DVD has a capacity of 4GB and above. It has been made possible by reading having more tracks on the DVD and to read/write these denser tracks you require a more precise lens and hence reading/writing a DVD from CD drive is not possible. Whereas reading the less denser tracks of the CD by the high precise lens of DVD is possible this is like you can walk slowly to the speed of the child whereas the child cannot walk at the speen you walk. Another example is a 350 CC motorbike can travel at a slower speed with that of a 50 CC bike whereas the reverse is not possible. Hope this clears your doubt.

You can't.
You need a DVD drive to do that.
In the DVD drive though, you can play CD's since it's backward compatible to play both CD's and DVD's.

No CD Drive can ever 'read' or play a DVD. You will have to install a DVD Player, for that purpose.
But all DVD Drives can 'read' and play CDs - if that news is of any use to you !
