how to become an actress?

u see i want to become an actress but i don't know how to do that where to go & without spending a lot of money because i once went to the agency well they sad i have to pay $5000 for my family that's a lot and i can't afford that but i really want to become an actress

Wow, the acting world today is HIGHLY competitive. I speak from experience. Don't listen to peoples lies about background acting. It pays crap for money. (Trust me, I know.) It is also NOT how you get discovered. If you want to be a pro you must get an agent. A good one, not a crooked one who wants your money. In order to get an agent you must go to auditions. At your auditions you must be confident, outgoing, and happy. When you do acting you must do it because you love it, not because of the fame and because you want to act pretty. (Like other ppl) Warning, don't overact and don't underact. Be yourself and remember that just because an agent didn't pick you doesn't mean you aren't good enough. Different agents are all looking for something else.

Oh and that agency sounds like a rip off. If they're asking for more than one thousand it's a scam. When going to auditions smile, bring your pics and resume. Black is a forbidden color to wear, so is white. No jewelry, no print on your clothes, nothing shiny. Dress trendy and look nice and sweet.

Also you should prolly live in Hollywood, close to agencies and everything. Lol =) Follow your dreams and never give up.

get an education first - go be a theatre major, then you'll be more certain that you're not wasting your money. being a successful actress takes a lot of risk and a lot of blind faith. i dont know from experience, but that's just what i gather.

Get a BFA ( bachalors in fine arts).If you are in school ,,join the drama clubs,,get the most experience that you can to make a future porfolio.Check out casting sites on the web.Good luck.
