Terry Pratchett is an amazing author that has mixed fantasy and science fiction together, and has scores of books to read. You can pick and choose the style, for example he has books based on the watch (police) for the crime readers, books based on fantasy creatures such as The Hogfather (Santa), The bogey monster, and the 'Oh god' of Hangovers. Books even reflecting society (the ones with the witches and 'headology'; and the latest releases. Check out:

Tamora Pierce's The Alanna Quartet has historical fantasy mixed in with a hint of romance, but the first books are targeted more at younger readers. The main character is a teenager, but if you don't mind then I would reccommend it too. She also has several other series's out that are also based in fantasy.
For a few other random ones
"The ill-made mute"
Raymond E. Fiest's books
Lastly, if you want an almost never ending supply of fantasy and romance at your fingertips, check out a thing called Harry Potter Fanfiction. There are literally MILLIONS of stories all over the web. It's authors writing their own stories about the Harry Potter universe, and the best websites are skyhawke and fictionalley. It's based around the Harry Potter universe, and with Harry Potter characters; but with new adventures, or changing the adventures; for example people might write a story on what would've happened if Harry got sorted into Slytherin. Another example would be for those who don't like Snape being evil would write an alternate sixth year. Yet another example would be a romance story between various characters. Most newbies prefer Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, James/Lily and Sirius/Remus.
But if you decide to have a look, watch out for Harry Potter fanfiction that is
OOC (Out of Character)
OC (Original Character)
Mary-Sue
Slash or Femme-Slash (I'm not saying there is anything wrong with this genre, but most people get squicked by this if they're new to fandom ;-) )
Also, watch out for anything labelled 'angst' to begin with.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. It's about a girl who moves from Phoenix, Arizona, to Forks, Washington, and falls in love with one of the neighborhood vampires. It's VERY good. It's a series (only 2 books out so far) and if you enjoy Twilight then you'll like New Moon. If you've already read it, I might suggest The Silver Kiss and Blood Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause. If you've read those, I suggest anything by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. They're easy but still good. All of these have romance and are fantasy.
It might like to add that it's also harder to recommend a book you have not read yet if we don't know if you've read them yet or not. Just a thought.

Sc-fi/fantasy try Jane Lindskold, Dennis McKiernan, David Drake, Mercedes Lackey, Trudi Canavan(great first trilogy and working on a second trilogy), Raymond Feist, the list goes on and there is lots of romance in the Dennis McKiernan books, try the duology INTO THE FORGE and INTO THE FIRE. I'd recommend the hunger games series by Susan Collins. I'm obsessed with those books at the moment and they have similar genre/themes to the books you've mentioned above. Its also being made into a film that's due for release this March!

The Dragonriders of Pern books. Start with Dragonsong, Dragonsinger and Dragondrums, which are more for younger readers. Then move on to Dragonflight, Dragonquest and The White Dragon. I would stop with those, as the rest are disappointing.

Also, you could read most of these:

One of the best and funniest books I have ever read is "Save Karyn-One Shopoholics Journey to Debt and Back" by Karyn Bosnak. If you are female, you will love this book I promise!!! I couldn't put it down.

You must read "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini or "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult. After these 2, you won't read any other fiction. Trust me!
