What would happen if America voted in a woman, or a person of color for the presidency? As a nation, are we ready?

I think there is still too much bigotry in the U.S. for that to happen.

Nothing would happen. We will be ready to handle any woman or any person of color who gets elected.

BTW, the only way they CAN get elected is by not emphasizing a victim-focused identity. No person of color can get elected if the primary thrust of their campaign is an emphasis on racism. No woman can get elected if the primary thrust is sexism. Stop focusing on victimhood and then you can get elected. And we'll be ready.

I guess that's one that only time can truly tell. I suppose if they were actually voted in to office then that would mean we are. But as far as a woman or an african american considering the race, I think now would be as good of time as any to test the water.

In America, we accept as President whoever wins the election. If that were a woman or a minority, we would accept that. Even though many of us no longer trust our political process, we still abide by it.

i think it would be wise to allow any person who is an American citizen to run for presidency. however seeing how the last two elections unfolded i dont see that the republican voters are ready to accept anyone unlike themselves yet.

Hopefully, when and if this happens, we will be taught how to show respect for the President, regardless of sex or color.

I don't have any problem with a female or non-white president. I just don't want to see Hillary in office.

As long as they're honest, it would be fine.

Hillary Clinton has my vote!
