For the past couple of days it appears that someone may have entered my home in my absence. There has been no break-in, nothing taken, moved or dislodged in any way - however, my interior porch door (which I specifically never close!) was firmly shut upon my return....Two nights running! My boyfriend went away to the other side of the country on saturday morning and is away for a week - so definitely wasn't him!
Verdicts please....

Yes I do rent, but I've never met the landlord as I pay my rent to Lenwells property services. I will be ringing them in a few hours! it's 5:20am here now!

what you could do is exit a different door to your house and put something that can be easily tipped over in front of the other one. then that way if the object was knocked over when you reenter through another door then you would know that the door was opened....or if you don't have another door you could set up something just inside the door that you can set up with only your hand. like as in close most of the door but leave a crack that you stick your hand in and set something up. then when you return and open the door and you don't hear the object fall over then you know that your door has been opened by someone else....in that case i would ask neighbors if they had seen anything suspicious around your house for the past few days....or you could have them keep an eye on your property while you are gone....you could also call the police and tell them whats up and see if they can do more patrols in your area. but i would definitely consider having an alarm system installed you don't need it to call the police when it goes off but just a loud noise to scare anyone away that might try to enter your house.....best of luck to you.

Does anyone else have a key? Do you rent? Could it have been the landlord?
I would have a policeman go over every inch of the place with me to be sure no one is hiding inside, and then I would change the locks

Edit: Oh! I didn't know you were in England. It's ghosts!.

Do you rent? Maybe it's your landlord? I would be careful and probably want to stay with a friend if my boyfriend wasn't around. I would also start thinking of ways to set little tell-tales around the house to see if someone disturbs them (hairs on door handles, dust marks, etc.) -- but I would probably not want to return home to check the tell-tales by myself. I would even consider asking the neighbors if they've seen or heard anyone around your place. I'd be extra cautious, whatever I did (and glad to laugh about being paranoid later).

It could be anything so don't freak yourself out!!! set up a security camera or have as steak out with a friend. It doesn't sound scary but I'm sure in reality it is! Check it out before going crazy thinking about it!
