how do I find its value? Players names include Preacher Roe, Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snyder, Roy Campenella, and Jackie Robinson, Gil Hodges and many more. Can anyone give me an estimate on its value and how should I go about possibly putting it up for sale?

Wow. That must be worth a lot. I'd start off by asking a baseball card shop owner his opion. Maybe go to two or three places. Good luck.

I think you potentially have something very valuable on your hands. Jackie Robinson was w/ the Dodgers from 1947-1956. I don't know where to tell you to look for a value of the ball. My only advice is to be very careful. Someone might try to take advantage of you since you don't know what the ball is worth. Good Luck!

It's worthless, just send it to me and I'll dispose of it. Just kidding. I'd say it is going to be worth a pretty penny, but it depends on the condition of the ball and signatures. If it is declared to be in gem mint condition or near gem mint, you could try to sell it on sutherbys or that other stuffy auction store. DO NOT SELL IT ON EBAY. As for getting it appraised, there should be a local appraisor somewhere near wherever you live. But please be very careful. I don't know what sex you are, but if they see a girl take this in for appraisal, they may offer you say, $500 and tell you they are doing you a favor by giving you the high-end estimate. Do not sell it at the same place you have it appraised, and do not have it appraised by only one source.

Without getting the signatures VERIFIED the ball will only be of great value to you.

It may well be worth taking to a professional and paying for an authentication. that will not only help to raise the value to as high as possible, BUT it allows you to keep it within your family while allowing the ball to appreciate in value.

(it sure would make a fantastic heirloom!)

I'm a Giants fan... but ANY piece of baseball history, I do admire! (Heck, I met Duke Snyder and HAD to have that legend of the game sign a ball for me!)

Congrats to you on your find!

I would say try looking on ebay to see if anyone has anything remotely close to it. Also look on an appraisal website and contact one of the appraisers. Contact the brooklyn dodgers or the national league directly and see if they are having any auctions or if they will buy it from you.

this is potentially a baseball hall of fame piece for many reasons - not only the names on it but also because the brooklyn dodgers are no longer in brooklyn obviously - ha. this peice could be worth several thousand dollars. could even be something that could go up for auction. contact reputable dealers in your area.

Just a suggestion............Why not try to google one of those guys and see if he would want to make you an offer...Or you could put an add in the paper for best offer..........Or check with EBay...just don't forget you have to accept the last highest bid even if it is 70 dollars.....good luck..What a neat find!
