Don't you think this is very coincidental that this happened two days before a major election?

No, I will not feel safe until Bush leaves office and the rest of the world will quit hating us for our warlike policies.

Who isn't scared of dying? What Saddam is probably thinking is probably along the lines of, "You're lucky that I didn't kill you earlier [referring to the judge]." I don't really believe in such archaic death sentences, it doesn't prove anything, it just shows that people are fighting fire with fire, and it doesn't get us anywhere. If we revert to such barbaric practices, then we are no different from those we are accusing, if anything we have become the ones we despise, so I would say no to hanging, but maybe try something else.

Of course not. Saddam's death sentence is a symbol for hope. Someone else will jump in the take his place. Stop that next evil person!

I think that it is going to fuel the war in Iraq even more. It doesn't make me feel any safer but it does matter that he has been convicted. I totally think that this has everything to do with the election.

You really think we have that much control over other countries to be able to say, Hey do not sentence him until a few days before our election. Really!!! I do not feel any different now than I did before he was sentenced but then again - he did not get a chance to make me feel unsafe. I am very thankful for that.

I just feel a whole lot happier. I'll feel safer when the war is carried out to it's fullest course. My son just returned from his second tour of duty in Iraq and Kuwait, and things seem to be going well. God Bless you.

This whole thing is a political charade built by Bush's cadre. They're bartering American lives for power and Saddam had always been about as dangerous to the USA as a toy terrier that was on mountain dew. He might bite his own kennel mates, but he ain't going to mess with Rottweiler that lives on the other side of town.

If, and that is a big if, Saddam was ever a threat that would have been when he was in power. Now that he is in jail he posses no threat.

And yes it is coincidence. I would not change me vote. If anything it reminds voters a failed U.S. policy.

I don't feel safer, but from the news footage that i have seen, the iraqi people feel safer.
I don't think it was preplanned for election time, its just a coincidence.
What would make me suspicious would be if they captured UBL tomorrow.
