Would YOU trust some freaky chat perv giving you medical advice? Serious... half the people around here are 40 year old men who still live with mom in the trailer park, are unemployed and watch star trek reruns all day. Naturally, they are qualified to do very specific medical diagnosis on line.... < shakes head >

yanno... some of you need to relax. The point of the Q was to just bring out the point that there is SO much misinformation given on this site. Misinformation, especially medical diagnosis, can be deadly. That's my point. So, chill the f-ck out. I'm here trying to protect people.

You are so right! As a form of entertainment, this is great, it gives you a chance to share some esoteric information you may have, but I can't imagine accepting the diagnoses that are given on here, either for my self or my pets. I love the one who's going, 'my dog is choking, what do I do' - well, by the time you're finished typing your question, posting it and waiting for answers, it's just a moot point, isn't it?!

maybe because some don't have the funds or the insurance needed to go see a doctor! this is America where minimum wage is still only 5.15 an hr. or did you forget that?! Also, I trust the fact that there are people on here who are just like me; smart enough to figure out a couple of helpful answers to questions every once in a while. and what the hell is wrong w/ being a forty year old man? Im sure they know a hell of a lot more than you bud!

Heck if I know.
"I'm coughing blood, should I see a doctor?" Well, heck yeah!
Although, I'd rather get medical advice from a 40 year old unemployed trekkie than some of the people on this site...

Gosh what a poor view of the company you keep.
If you will notice most everyone, if they answer, give some info and then add to see the doctor.
P.S. are you a 40 year old who lives in a trailer with his mother and a perv to boot?

I think it's pretty funny. Especially when it's something like "I'm bleeding from the eye sockets and it hurts to breathe." Maybe an actual trip to an actual doctor could be in order, genius!!

i think its bcuz of the cost of healthcare these days. and if they r getting the right information free of cost, why not?
but i do agree with u, that at the end of the day, one needs to go to the doc coz hes the one who is qualified to provide medical information.

Not too sure, really. Does it cost money in the States to see a doctor? Maybe they are trying to avoid the cost? Hmmmm....

With the internet, people are always diagnosing themselves. If they don't like the answers that their doc's give them, then they will look elsewhere. For some people it actually works!
