The best favor I ever got was an inexpensive picture frame. After the baby was born, the family sent all the shower guests and gift-givers a picture to put in the frame.

I also like candy but hate any favor that will sit around my house and gather dust.

I got some of those little net circles, a great big bag of jolly ranchers, two different colors of ribbon (a dark and a light blue, for a boy), and some little tiny platic rattles(from a craft store, came in packages of like 10 for 1.99 or something).

I wrapped three jolly ranchers up in a net circle, cut two lengths of ribbon (one in each color), knotted it around the circle, slid the rattle on, and then tied it in a boy.

They were cheap, fast, and cute.

here's one from my cousin's baby shower......at the begining we passed out safety pins to everyone there and anytime they caught someone crossing their legs they got that person's safety pin. the one with most pins in the end got a little gift.......(there are tons of different games to play like baby word searches, who can drink a bottle faster, and of course the obvious one of guessing things about the birth)
as a little thank you gift for coming she had these little bags that looked like a baby rattle with bath salts in them for everyone to take home.
