Voting Rights With a Felony
* Even if you have a felony conviction, you can vote if:
you are on probation, or
you have completed your probation, or
you have completed parole.
* The only time you are not allowed to vote is if you have a felony conviction and you are still in prison or on parole. Once you have completed your prison sentence and parole, you can register to vote.

If you have ever had a felony conviction in the United States and have not gotten your civil rights restored you can't vote in the United States. You can vote if your coviction was downgraded to a misdemeanor after your sentnece was completed.

easily you could, in case you progression to a distinctive state. criminal convictions at the instant are not checked once you check in to vote. they only take your word on it. i comprehend because of the fact I used to artwork for the government. Registering to vote is predicated on the honour equipment. they do no longer run an NCIC verify on people who check in to vote. in case you have been convicted of a criminal in Mississippi, and moved to Tennessee, you ought to truly check in to vote after satisfiying the residency standards. easily, maximum felons sign a paper agreeing to no longer vote. different than that, there's no longer something to maintain you from registering and balloting for whoever you % to. Jason is an fool! States do no longer "enable" felons to vote. yet you could achieve this in case you % to.

i always thought you could still vote even if you were in prison...i think voting is one of those rights that can't be taken away no matter what you do. like driving a car is a priviledge and can then be taken away, but voting is a right and can't be taken away from you no matter what.
