You are taking the words in these songs waaayy too literally. Have you ever heard of "figure of speech"? There is a deeper meaning in those words. People aren't really climbing mountains and swimming oceans. You're kind of missing the point. Oh well, not everyone's a romantic. :)

Leonard Cohen's love songs are realistic. I go for those. Or what about Gloomy Sunday (covered by Bjork). Gloomy love is where it's at.

Yep. That's why I like country songs.
They include things like "I left my wife because she gave me the ultimatum of either fishing or being with her. So I'm fishing."
And "she walked out that door and told me to give everything away because it's got no meaning of our love anymore."
That's realistic my friend :)
