When we use them, we rule out mental illness first. Although they are not admissable as evidence of guilt in court in my state, they can be helpful for the defense.

can they pass by lying? No
can they pass telling the truth? yes
ADHD or Bipolar, it is not going to change the outcome. If the person is lying they will be found out to be lying. They have no secret capability to fool the test.
Emotion has nothing to do with it. Unless your lying. And ADD is an attention Deficit Disorder, not an emotional basket case disorder.

Narcissistic people will pass a polygraph, with no problem, they believe what they are saying is true, sex offenders who are Narcissistic can pass a polygraph.

I would think if he did not lie, he would pass a polygraph.
Not sure if they are admissible in court as evidence, it is my
understanding that they are not always correct. Don't really know.

This is a very good blog, a beginner’s guide to abnormal psychology.
Short, clear and simple; and you can even post your question and contact the author regarding particular subject you are interested in

I am ADD, and I would not ever consent to one. My emotions are just to hard to predict. At any given moment I can be happy, sad, tearing up for no apparent reason. No way I would do it.
