Hmm - that's nice that you are concerned about her well being!

Maybe you could try working with her - get her into her doctors office and work on one issue at a time, such as blood pressure, etc. Help get her on a diet plan and exercise program and slowly work on it (under doctors orders). If she starts to slide back, be there to help encourage her to go forward! Be sure to let her know that the reward that she gets out of this is a healthier body and a WAY better chance at fertility for a baby!!

People like her, and I'm not trying to be rude, they need guidance from a loved one, such as you. They fall back down so easily because it is easier to fall back than to move forward! But with the right guidance and positive encouragement, she can be on her way to a healthier life and a baby!!

Good luck girl - I wish you AND your sister the best!

Some people can't take advice from family, but will listen to "authority" or "expert" figures.
Since she's already in the hospital, pull her doctor aside next time you go to visit her. Tell the doctor the situation and ask the doctor to casually bring up her weight and how it affects her ability to conceive. A good way to get the conversation started is by addressing why she is in the hospital. High blood pressure can be linked to stress, so the doctor has the perfect time to ask your sister if anything's got her stressed out or down. They can get real specific, asking about family, future plans, etc. Once she mentions wanting a child, etc. the doctor can talk to her about her health and how it is hindering her from getting pregnant. The doctor can also talk about complications and risks involved with being overweight and pregnant.
You can also buy her books about how to get your body ready for a pregnancy.

Truth be told, what your sister really wants is a purpose. It has nothing to do with wanting a baby. Your sister wants to feel wanted, needed and validated. Having a baby is only going to make her feel more trapped and depressed.

When she tries to get on fertility pills, the doctor should be able to determine if it's a bad idea. If he thinks it is, hopefully he'll explain this to her & she'll listen. There's not anything you can do to stop her. It sounds like she's jelous of your pregnancy, so try not to "rub it in her face". If she does get pregnant, be there for the baby.

The tune "mama" from the film "Soul Food"- I consider it is through Boys to Men. I did a plaque for my Mom one valentines day with the lyrics on it and gave her the CD. If you do not are aware of it- seem it up- lovely tune. There may be a candy lylabye CD known as "sleep sound in Jesus" with a few beautiful lyrical songs. Welcome on your new little buddy!

I do not think you have to worry if she has to get on fertility pills to get pregnant because turst me hon no doctor will put her on them, they are going to say the exact same thing to her that you did.

Doctors are not going to put someone who is so unhealthy on fertility pills because it is to dangerous and if they were to put her on fertility pills and she were to have something go wrong she could turn around and try to sue, no doctor is going to risk that.
