From what I understand, Proactive is no different than other over the counter products (ie. OxyClean and stuff like that). From what I've learned the main ingredient that gets rid of acne is benzoyl peroxide. So just look for that (it can be found in most any over the counter treatment) and it'll yield the same results. Yeah, definitely CLEAN AND CLEAR. This is from experience, I used proactive for a few months and it worked pretty well, but since it is sooo expensive like you said, I switched to clean and clear next. I've tried two kinds and they both are working good for me. Good luck!

try clean and clear...blackhead clearing scrub and clean and clear lotion. should work...its helped me...good luck =)

Clearasil is really good! you can get it at any drug store!
