There are used book stores where you can trade them in and they give you credit to be used on other books. Donate them to GoodWill or Salvation Army. Donate them to a library. Take them to a washateria.. I do that with magazines and catalogs.

Try selling them first. Then if no one wants them, you can disfigure at will.

The covers might look nice framed for a boy's bedroom. Or stitched together to make a lampshade (with a rocket base?).

Segments from the text might make interesting collages and bits to put on keychains. Or decoupage.

The book-safe idea also sprung to mind.

If you don't want them, and no one else wants them, the kindest thing to do would be to get rid of them. All sorts of pests like paper to nest in or eat. You don't need to hold onto them forever. It's OK to trash them after you've given the rest of the world a chance at them.

Look in your area to see if there is a book exchange where you can get cash or credit to buy other books. If you don't want to sell them, try donating them to hospitals. They have volunteers who go to the patients with books and magazines for them or their families to read while they are in the hospital. At our hospital here, they even sell some of the used books at the gift shop for visitors to buy. Just a thought. Hope you find a solution!

Sell them on Ebay. One persons trash is another persons treasure.

Or if you know anyone that wants them just give them away. This is what I end up doing with all my old books.
