You have entirely too much time on your hands. Maybe you can volunteer your extra time were it will be greatly appreciated.

It depends on what kind of sewage system you have. Typically there are two scenarios. If you have a septic tank, nothing exiting happens. The object just goes down one or two pipes, and ends up in a large tank that is emptied once every few years.
The other scenario is pretty boring but more interesting, and that is the object will go through a smaller pipe to a much larger pipe that connects to probably another even larger pipe, then these pipes go to a sewage treatment plant where they use chemicals, and bacteria to eliminate the disease causing bacteria (there is such thing as good and bad bacteria). Then the water is either dumped into a lake, or the ocean once it's suitable to be dumped.
Sometimes the water is recycled as irrigation water, and even drinkable water, but the object will probably end up in some sewage treatment plant.

Major damage. Clogging. Cost a lot of money. But you could do it and if anything happens, just leave the string and it'll just fush down and meet up with it's other end. I'd recommend not to risk it though.

P.S You have a very "imaginative" mind.

I think the best soloution would be for you to tie the other end of the string to your big toe before you flush the toilet.........

I hope you have a lot of string. Good luck with that. I wouldn't want to pull the string back up. I think it goes to an underground sewage tank. ew.

depending on the item it will flow through a "P" shaped trap (which is shaped more like an "S") and follow the drain ...if it's a multistory bldg and your above the first floor then it will fall along a vertical drain pipe...you should actually be able to retrieve the item once the water pressure has stopped...

LOL! Great question. I wonder if it is the same as sniffing dental floss and getting it to come out of your mouth. I don't know the answer to this one but thanks for the laugh.

it will get all messed up in the pipes from your house to the sewer and cost hundreds of dollars to clean the mess up.
