Alright, I'm probably going to get a lot of rude comments for this question but that's alright, I expect them...

I'm 39wks...And decided to try the 'castor oil' thing today...Well, I was a little 'iffy' about it at first, so instead of taking what the bottle said to take- Which was 1-4 tablespoons, I took 3 teaspoons mixed with OJ at 2:00 this afternoon....Nothing happened, AT ALL...no bad bathroom episodes, Nothing...So around 7:40 PM, I decided to try it again, And took 2 tablespoons mixed with an 8oz glass of OJ this time....About an hour and a half later, I took a warm bath and laid down...Well around 9:40 PM, I started feeling (what I think are contractions) my belly tightens up (Mainly the bottom part) and it hurts like all hell (Like BAD period cramps) then it kind of radiates to my back and up my spine (or so it feels like)...They were coming at about every 7 min and were tolerable..Well it's now 11:23 PM, And they are getting worse and are coming about every 2 min....cont'

I can't even lay down 'cause it hurts so bad...I've not had any 'bathroom incidents' (pooping) like I've heard can happen, What I was wondering though..Could these be REAL contractions, Or are they cramping from taking the castor oil?!

I had a dr's appt. Thursday, And was dilated 2cm, and he said the babies head was DEFINITELY in position, Said he could feel her head while doing my vaginal exam....I've been 'losing' a clear/white snotty substance for about 2 weeks...But no bloody show...and no brown tint...Do I need to keep waiting...Or should I run to the hospital just to make sure everyhting is alright?!?

Could this be the 'REAL' thing?!!?

I want to make sure that if I go to the hospital (at this hour) they'll keep me, I have an 18 month old, And would HATE to wake him up in the middle of the night, drag him out in the cold, Only to be told 2 hours later, "Oh, you can go home now"...Lol...This is the ONLY reason I HAVEN'T woke my fiance up and demanded we go go the hospital...

I thought I'd ask on here, and see what people had to say, Then call, And see what the hospital has to say...

Chandra- Castor oil is 'suppose' to help induce labor, Or so I've been told, and so I've read on several websites...

Even after the 'cramping' is over with...Does the belly remain hard??

One would think, After being pregnant and going through childbirth, I would remember these things...But my memory seems to be failing me right now...

Wow, sounds like you are in labor hun! How exciting!!! Why should people give you a rude response to your question? I think it is a good question. You should probably call your ob/gyn and they will advise you on when to go to the hospital! I wish you tons of luck!! I don't think they are false contractions because they are steady and are increasing in frequency.

I think you may be in labor....I've had two children. Go to the hospital. The mucus stuff is called the mucus membrane. Congrats, you most likely will be a Mommy by this time tomorrow.

Hon you need to get your *** to the hospital because your in labor, you need to get thier ASAP because I am sure you do not want to end up having your baby in your house or in your car, trust me it is very painful without meds and without a proper educated person by your side such as a GYN or midwife knowing about labor and trained to deal with it you can be putting you and the baby in danger.

call your doctor and get to the hospital... if the pain is getting worse and more frequent, you are most likely in labor... do it soon unless you were planning on having your baby at home or in the car on the way to the hospital... hope everything goes well for you and congratulations on becoming a mom!!

I would definently go to the ER ASAP. If they are 2 min apart you are going to have your baby soon. If you are still wondering, you should get checked out anyways. It's better to be safe than sorry and have your baby in the toilet or something! :)

Good luck and CONGRATS!

well my guess would be to call your doctor and get ready to head to the hospital. I have never tried the castor oil thing but my friend said it worked on her.
CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST OF LUCK!!

My recommendation is if you're requested out by means of that man your peers possibly bit dissatisfied however they are going to be joyful that they get to hang around with you and him. If they're mad they could simply now not be the proper peers for you...

I would wake him and head for the hospital, and congrats on the upcoming baby.
