Yes, send them to school where they can experience it first hand.

Absolutely! In the fifties, the worst thing that kids got in trouble at school for was chewing bubble gum in class. Today, it's weapons, drugs and shootings. What major influence has changed since the fifties? Violence on TV. If it's not the parent's responsibility, than who's is it? The problem is, the parents don't have the discipline themselves to keep all that garbage out of they're homes. They get sucked in, then the kids get sucked in. More parents need to turn off the tube and start spending quality time with their kids, teaching them right from wrong. Any other questions?

i think young children (10 and under) should definitely be protected and that parents of children 11-14 should not so much protect their children but be aware of what they are watching and talked to them about violence

I think parents need to explain that GANGSTERS are not cool, and people don't live in the ghetto and shoot others for a bag of milk.
I've been watching violence on tv and R rated movies since i was probably 10 years old. I have a clean record.
The parents shape the kid, not TV.

parents. Unfortunately more and more parents feel like the responsibility of what their childrem come across belongs either to regulations, schools, teachers, so on. Just like in children who are obesse. They changed the whole lunch system in schools so kids can eat healthier. So they will be presented with soup and salad in school but go home and the parents throw them a bag of chips and some hot dogs. It should all begin with the parents.

No, b/c then ur just protecting them from reality and that will only screw them up worse in the future. Parents should be teaching their kids right from wrong that way they realize the violence is not right...............but parents always look for excuses these days...

Parents hould not let kids watch scary or violent tv programs. The government should't be involved. It's the parents responsibilty to turn off the tv or get rid of it altogether.

Yes, and it ultimately is the parents place seeing how no one else is going to concern themselves with it. The dollar wins the vote. What ever sales will be plastered across the TV so it is up to us to be sure it is monitored.

Yes, mostly by the parents, grandparents / relatives, & babysitters. But it would also help if violent shows were not allowed to be on tv until 9pm.
