AMMAN, Jordan - Saddam Hussein urged Iraqis on Sunday to reject the sectarian violence ripping his country apart and to "not take revenge" on U.S. invaders, his chief lawyer said after the ousted leader was sentenced to death.

"The message from President Saddam to his people came during a meeting in Baghdad this morning, just before the so-called Iraqi court issued its verdict in his trial," Khalil al-Dulaimi told The Associated Press in a telephone interview from Baghdad.

I think we all know this is pure bs. Saddam never said what they quoted. He hates this country.

Less than an hour later, he's quoted as saying: "Down with the invaders! Allahu Akbar!" (God is Greatest), before he was led away by guards. He was probably also telling Bush to kizz where the sun doesn't shine.

Its all such a crock

No, I don't think Saddam actually said that, or would support such a statement. Nonetheless one of his attorneys is on record as claiming that he did. It may be a PR stunt, or the attorney may have independently decided to defuse Saddam's expected outburst. Lawyers are a weird bunch.

I am just concern about the future repercusssions on other loonies like Saddam. What kind of message does this send to Kim Jong ll or the Iranian President? Do you think they will be scared or knowing that they will be killed anyways, they will fight to the death. Kim Jong ll knows that he will be put to death if capture, he probably would launch all the nukes North Korea has before giving up, ditto for the Iranian government. When you thinkg about that, you may realize there is not much to celebrate.

What he actually said was mhohol, mhohol, mhohol, repeatedly.

Sources say that the incomprehensible sound caused a sort of sonic conundrum within the inner ear of all those present in the court room.

SADMAN then started trembling and crying like a spoiled girly girl.

It was pitiful said one source, especially considering that he has never shed a tear for any of the multiple thousands of men women and children he has murdered in the past.

mhohol, mhohol, mhohol, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know whether or not he said the first thing. But he did say "long live Iraq!" He did not hate his country.

If he said it, it was a ploy to get liberals to try to defend him.
