Why would they have been buried "wrestling?" I don't know about hugging, but the "embrace" they were in was not natural for two people dying fighting. It was much more intentional than that, and they were in a burial position. If they determine that the sexes were different, a "hug" would be more logical. That said, I agree with you that it is not necessarily "obvious" what they were doing. The researchers may be reading into it too much, though not necessarily. Taking into consideration the nature of when they died, how young they were, and the position of the skeletons, it does appear that it was a ritual burial. So maybe they were hugging afterall! It is all theory at this point, either way. Very interesting.
