My 16 year old son is wanting a nice guitar amp for Christmas. He currently has a B.C. Rich Bich Guitar. I would like to buy him something nice without costing too much...
Any Suggestions?

I am hearing Marshall or Kustom are good brands? If you do reply, please specify model.

My suggestion would be to check an online music retailer such as Sweetwater and browse through the amps they have available and see the price ranges. I would also recommend checking out the Harmony Central site to see how users rate the amps you are considering. Music stores are still the best way to try out an amp, but the salesperson may or may not be your best source of information. If they work on commision, they may steer you toward an amp that they have a higher markup on, as opposed to an amp that would be a better fit for your son. They may also steer you toward the most popular amps, which again may or may not be the best fit. There are a lot of good amps on the market. Depending on the style of music he plays will play a large part in which amp will work best for him. Don't be afraid to ask your son what he likes. It may be better that he knows what he's getting as opposed to getting him something that he won't really be happy with.

Marshall is an industry leader, and I would serchest looking into the fpllowing on the net, marshall, creat, and you can just type those in on ur web browser, don't forget to add the word amp. on the net you can compaire price verses options. this way you have a few ideas, E-bay is great also for this kind of stuff

I suggest a Peavy. For a teenager, these are pretty reasonably priced, and nowadays, they offer models that alow for all the most current hard-rock sounds, as well as clean sounds. Peavy amps are also pretty well made. Not as sexy as a Marshall or Fender, but very reasonable price, and alot of good sounds that young guitarists want. Good Luck!

Line 6.
Although, I'm not sure how expensive/inexpensive that would be.
