I'm starting to think of it as the Hitler Channel. Anyone one else agree they give way to much time for Hitler?

It's no more obsessed with Hitler than it is with UFOs, paranormal activity, killer asteroids and the general end of civilization.

People have been trying to get inside Hitler's mind for 60 years or more, and now more archives are opening up in Eastern Europe and more eye-witnesses are coming forward (like Hitler's butler) who have important insight into his personality and medical condition, both physical and mental. These help to explain some of his 'fateful' decisions which ultimately lead to defeat.
It is cutting edge history and it is right that the History Channel covers it.
There are other programs on similar topics, such as the rise of Nazism, or the way the SS used propaganda, which might seem like the channel has a bit of a fixation, but on the whole the main diet is still global history.
They may also be performing a public service, besides fulfilling their main remit of entertainment, in turning a potential hero figure like Hitler into a mere flawed mortal, who people should learn how to spot a mile away.

People are still trying to understand Hitler. The man was a captivating speaker, an artist, responsible for many successful public works across Germany and the rest of Europe, and a raving lunatic all rolled into one. I have no love for Hitler, but he is interesting.

Modern polititions have obviously studied Hitler closely as evidenced by their use of propaganda which Hitler's regime developed into an art form. Perhaps the programs are put on for thier benifit.

I agree! They have lost a lot of the other interesting stuff. I wonder if its because the other stuff moved to specialty channels? :(
