No that's not true. He was just trying to justify his cheating by saying that other men do it. It's a real lame excuse at best.

Having been through this myself, in my situation, the OW got pregnant, and my H will be paying for this for the rest of his life. At least monetarily for the next 18-23 yrs. Serves him right, but it also takes away from our household. I don't care because I have accepted his daughter from the affair and love her as my own. It's not her fault, and she didn't pick the situation she was born into... 2 very selfish people picked it for her.
I don't think he ever thought that his life would be this way, as I never thought mine would either. Here I am, 27, no kids of my own, married 5 years and helping raise my 18mo. old "stepdaughter" from my husband's affair.
And I honestly think if there was no child, I'd have been gone like you. But I kept thinking of her. What kind of life would she have if I left my H....I was the one who made him take responsibility for his little girl.... he didn't want visitation, just wanted to pay $ and not have to deal with OW...well TOO BAD...you wanted to deal with her that night, and guess what... you should've never been there.
I too wonder sometimes if guys think it's the norm.... his dad did it, so he did it, so is that how they are raised to treat women?? How sad.

men cheating isn't any more of a norm than women cheating. think about it, for every man cheating, there's a woman cheating with him! takes two to tango.
however, yes more married men than married women cheat, but it's still a minority.
in fact i just found this from another yahoo answer: "Statistic indicate that as high as 32% of men cheat and as high as 23% of the women have had affairs.."
so as you can see, almost as many women as men cheat. all you women who say men are "dogs" have it wrong! stop being sexist.

I'm working on asking a girl to marry me, and I know I wouldn't cheat on her for the most beautiful woman onearth, because to me she is the most beautiful woman on earth. I wont ever cheat on a woman and I dont think it is right is a man does. His duty as a husband has been let down and you did the right thing.

all men don't cheat. That was his excuse. Don't believe it for a second.
I applaud you for leaving him.
He has no heart. If you find another guy make sure he believes in being faithful. You deserve a great guy.,
Your X....Karma & God will take care of him.
The best revenge is for you to be happy without him.

All people that cheats do normalize their behaviour. It does not matter weather you are a man or a women. They always try to rationalize it and make it not so bad. Being in "infactuated" by love makes people some what insane and unreasonable......
My personal experience.

Oh, I think so. They're all scum. Of course, they'll hide behind the "everyone's doing it" to justify themselves. I think most will cheat because they're spoiled and think they deserve to have as many women as are offered. My question is why do us women allow ourselves to be used like that? Don't you ever think of the other woman and how she might be feeling. Relationships are difficult and the problem is everyone is out for themselves. Sad, but true.

Most men do not cheat - it's a very shallow and selfish response - you are right to make him your ex

absolutely not. My husband has ample opportunity to cheat on me but he doesn't. This is not the norm. Your ex husband is perfect right where he's at - being your EX.
