My hubby is a football fanatic. That's okay with me, because I like football and we all know most marriages depend on a firm grasp of football trivia. So, I live with it because I love him. We were watching the Steelers/Denver game last night and he was getting seriously bent out of shape because the Steelers were playing so poorly. I asked if he wanted dinner and he said he was too depressed to eat. "Snap out of it", I told him. It's just a game. "You have a point. An idiotic one, but a point", he replied, clearly still upset over his beloved Steelers loss. I decided to give him a break instead of kicking his butt over his smart *** answer and coaxed him into eating the dinner I had made. "Come on, dazzle me with your culinary skills", he said, coming to the table. I set the stew I had made down in front of him and he tried it. "I think it needs some more seasoning", he said with a wicked grin, because he knows I hate when he does that. "Ohhh, we're telling the truth now, are we", I said, grinning back. We laughed and the earlier tension was gone, as can happen in a good marriage. That's why there's no place like home!
