Is there a moral or lesson to be learned as superpower countries become involved in exerting their influence over smaller nations?

Being "superpower countries" it would be hard for them not to exert influence over smaller countries. The big bulls of the woods are big bulls. As for morals and lessons, they are pretty much open to interpretation as the person holding the example choses to. You can pretty well find fault or greatness in each one throughout history, as you choose to serve your purposes. I prefer to leave the moralizing to specific events that do not necessarily limit themselves to "superpowers". Remember too, that historically, all "superpowers" started much smaller and weaker, and historically, they all lost their place and power over time, period.
