turning notebook into access point?

hey i am connected to the net with dsl but its a wired network. I want to use my psp online but i think it can only work with a access point. So i was trying to turn my notebook into an access point. Is that even possible? Or is there another way i can get online?

You can either get a wireless router to hook up to your network or a WiFi Max USB device that ou can use to turn your PC or Desktop into a wireless router.
